Eternal Pink: What does the pink diamond on auction valued at 35 million look like?

The Eternal Pink diamond will be auctioned at Sotheby’s on June 8.

Its managers have estimated that this pink jewel, weighing 10.57 carats, could be worth around 35 million dollars.

Experts have stressed the importance of its colour, as very few diamonds have it. And, among those that do, pink is not at all common in this type of stone.

The director of Sotheby’s America, Quig Bruning, compared this diamond to works of art by Magritte or Warhol.

“This colour is the most beautiful and concentrated shade of pink in diamonds that I have ever seen or that has ever come on the market. Sotheby’s is honoured to behold this exceptional jewel and to present it to the world,” he said.

Pink diamonds are highly prized and top the price rankings at pink diamond auctions. The absolute record is held by the CTF Pink Star, sold by Sotheby’s in 2017 for 71.2 million dollars.

Second place is held by the Williamson Pink Star, with a final price of 57.7 million dollars at auction in Hong Kong in October 2022.
