Gold Price Climbs to Rs 72,880, Silver Rises to Rs 94,100

Gold Price Today: The price of 24-carat gold increased by Rs 10 in early trade on Wednesday, with ten grams of the precious metal trading at Rs 72,880, according to the GoodReturns website. Silver prices also saw an appreciation of Rs 100, with one kilogram selling at Rs 94,100.


The price of 22-carat gold also rose by Rs 10, bringing the selling price to Rs 66,810.


In major cities, the price of ten grams of 24-carat gold was consistent:

Mumbai: Rs 72,880

Kolkata: Rs 72,880

Hyderabad: Rs 72,880

Delhi: Rs 73,030

Bengaluru: Rs 72,880

Chennai: Rs 73,590

For 22-carat gold, the prices were as follows:

Mumbai: Rs 66,810

Kolkata: Rs 66,810

Hyderabad: Rs 66,810

Delhi: Rs 66,960

Bengaluru: Rs 66,810

Chennai: Rs 67,460

In Chennai, the price of one kilogram of silver stood at Rs 98,600.

Global Market Trends

US gold prices edged lower on Wednesday as the dollar firmed, with investors turning their attention to the upcoming US non-farm payrolls report for insights into the Federal Reserve’s rate-cut plans. Spot gold was down 0.1% at $2,326.08 per ounce as of 0122 GMT, following a 1% loss on Tuesday. US gold futures also slipped 0.1% to $2,345.80.

Spot silver decreased by 0.1% to $29.46 per ounce. Meanwhile, platinum was up 0.1% at $987.75, and palladium fell 0.4% to $911.65.
