India Pavilion and Design Gallery to Showcase Premier Jewellery at JCK Las Vegas 2024

Las Vegas—The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) will host the India Pavilion at the 2024 JCK Las Vegas trade show from May 31 to June 3, marking its 19th consecutive year at this premier event. Held at the Sands Expo & The Venetian, this year’s pavilion will highlight India’s finest jewellery designs and craftsmanship tailored for the Western markets.

Occupying 4,900 square feet across two levels (including the Passport Section, Diamond Pavilion, Lab-Grown, and Current Sections), the India Pavilion will feature 39 member exporters. Attendees can expect a diverse range of precious metal jewellery, both plain and studded, alongside loose gemstones such as diamonds, precious, and semi-precious colored stones.

“The India Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas is a testament to the unmatched craftsmanship and innovative design that India offers,” said Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC. “With the USA market accounting for 30.2% or $9.94 billion of India’s total gem and jewellery exports in FY 2023-2024, it remains our largest export destination. We are proud to bring the best of Indian jewellery to a global audience, highlighting our designs and manufacturing capabilities. This is an opportunity to reinforce India’s position as a leader in the global jewellery market.”

A highlight of the pavilion is the India Design Gallery, located at L-105, Level 1. This gallery will showcase 20 stunning jewellery pieces, reflecting the rich heritage and modern creativity of Indian artisans. The theme this year is divided into two categories: “Objet Trouvé” and “Unusual Materials.”

“Objet Trouvé” celebrates art crafted from non-traditional materials, including vintage poker chips, antique coins, collected shells, and beachcombed treasures. Featured pieces include a hairpin made of pinecones with gold and diamonds, earrings crafted from old currency notes, and gold danglers encrusted with Adenanthera pavonina seeds.

“Unusual Materials” explores the fusion of familiar and unexpected elements, combining materials like bamboo, wood, and leather with at least 50% precious metals. Innovative designs include a bracelet made with gold and areca palm leaves, leather and moss agate cufflinks with a discreet SIM card, and pistachio shell earrings adorned with plique-à-jour enamel.

India is a preferred sourcing destination for gems and jewellery in the USA, known for its ethical business practices and commitment to transparency and sustainability. Indian jewellers emphasize responsible sourcing and manufacturing, ensuring gems and jewellery are conflict-free and promoting the welfare of artisans and workers.

GJEPC organizes India Pavilions at major international exhibitions, including Vicenzaoro and the Hong Kong Show, and engages in various trade promotion activities such as Buyer-Seller Meets and delegations to key global gems and jewellery hubs.
