In a dazzling tribute to a design legacy, Tiffany & Co. has launched the Bone cuff as part of its “With Love, Since 1837” campaign, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Elsa Peretti’s iconic creation.
Elsa Peretti, an Italian model-turned-designer, once found herself navigating life without the financial support that her upbringing might have promised. At just 21, she faced independence, initially earning a living through teaching and skiing before transitioning to modeling in New York. It was there that her remarkable talent flourished, leading her to design for prominent American fashion designer Halston, who introduced her to Tiffany & Co. Peretti’s tenure at the house began swiftly, with her remarkable potential recognized within a mere 15 minutes of her interview. Five decades later, her work remains a cornerstone of Tiffany’s design philosophy.
The launch of the Bone cuff is an integral part of Tiffany’s “With Love, Since 1837” campaign, which celebrates the brand’s rich heritage and craftsmanship. This initiative, inspired by the legendary window designer Gene Moore, aims to illuminate the untold stories behind Tiffany’s most iconic collections, while simultaneously modernizing Moore’s whimsical display style through creative storytelling.
The campaign’s visuals draw from Moore’s enchanting window displays, blending the extraordinary with the familiar. The imagery surrounding the Bone cuff not only highlights Peretti’s profound impact on fashion and design but also encapsulates her signature modeling poses with a floating hand gesture. A ladybug, delicately perched on the finger, serves as a nod to the renowned Bone cuff advertisement shot by her close friend, photographer Hiro.
Embodying both modernity and timelessness, the Bone cuff features a sensuous, sculptural design that elegantly follows the natural contours of the wrist. This thoughtful construction allows the cuff to seamlessly integrate with the wearer’s body. The design has inspired various adaptations, all maintaining Peretti’s original intent of merging art with elegance.
Similarly, the Bone ring showcases Peretti’s unique ability to transform simple shapes into enduring symbols of beauty. The innovative Split ring, with its central division, introduces a contemporary edge while preserving the fluid curves of the Bone cuff.
In a world where few designs endure the test of time, Peretti’s creations continue to enchant, embodying a captivating blend of style and elegance that remains unmatched in the realm of fashion jewelry.
