Christie’s New York will showcase an exquisite collection of historic and luxury jewels in its upcoming “Magnificent Jewels” auction on June 17.
Highlights include the rare Marie-Thérèse Pink Diamond, once owned by Marie Antoinette and reinterpreted by Parisian jeweler Joel Arthur Rosenthal (JAR), crowned with a fleur-de-lis motif symbolizing French royalty.
Also featured is “The Blue Belle,” a spectacular 392.52-carat Sri Lankan sapphire necklace, originally intended as a gift for Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. This iconic piece is valued between $8 and $12 million and praised for its exceptional prestige among colored gemstones.
The auction further presents masterpieces from renowned maisons: a Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and ruby brooch, a Chaumet diamond and sapphire ring, and Cartier’s famed diamond and emerald panther brooch. Among unmounted stones, a notable 66.74-carat diamond is estimated at $3.2 to $4.2 million.
This sale epitomizes the union of history, craftsmanship, and the allure of rare jewelry materials in contemporary fashion.
